Guidelines for Providing Literature to Sell at Events
We always say yes to requests to sell literature at events. However, there a few procedures you will need to follow to enable this to happen. They are:
- Space - You will need to provide a space/table at your event to sell literature.
- Bank - You will need to provide a bank to make change. We recommend $100 in $1's, $5's and $10's.
- Volunteers - You will need to provide your own volunteers to sell literature. If there is no admission fee to the event, the recently formed Chicago Area Literature Committee will attempt to provide someone to assist your volunteers. However, we cannot guarantee this since the Committee is still small at this time.
- Pick-up - You will need to pick up the literature from CASO to take to your event and return what is left over, even if someone from the Literature Committee will be assisting in selling it. You may borrow the dolly or other such equipment from CASO, but you are responsible financially for that equipment if it is damaged or lost.
- Consignment - All literature is on consignment. After your event is over, you pay for any literature you do not return to the bookstore. Please note you are responsible for paying for any lost, stolen or damaged merchandise, as well as any literature you sell.
- Advance Notice - Two to three weeks notice for your order is requested. Otherwise, it cannot be guaranteed that the literature you request will be in stock or that there will be time to put together your order.
IT IS EASY TO ORDER LITERATURE FOR YOUR EVENT!
To order literature for an event, just call the CASO bookstore at (312)346-8451. The bookstore is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (For pick-up of literature on consignment, additional hours may be available. Please call to arrange your pick-up and drop-off time with the bookstore.) You may also place an order via e-mail or U.S. mail. Signature will be required for release of literature and equipment upon pickup.
