Hospital and Treatment Facilities (HTF) Committee

The Hospital and Treatment Facilities (HTF) Committee

The purpose of this standing committee is to cooperate with hospitals and treatment/rehabilitation facilities in the Chicago area regarding AA’s relationship with such facilities. The committee helps coordinate AA meetings in such facilities. Examples of our 12-step work include chairing a meeting at a detox center, coordinating AA meetings at a treatment center, and working with hospital staff to organize an AA meeting.

The membership of this Committee is composed of one delegate from each of the districts of Area 19. Delegates shall serve for a period of two years commencing January 1 of the odd year. Membership on this committee is open to any interested AA member. New members are always welcome to attend the meeting of the HTF Committee on the first Monday of each month.

There is no sobriety requirement to participate in committee activities (e.g. monthly business meetings, support work, trainings).  There is a one-year minimum sobriety requirement to serve as a district representative on the Committee or to hold most other positions. In addition, special sobriety requirements may be set by the treatment facility.

HTF meets the first Monday of the month at 7 pm via Zoom.
